How the Build Process Works in California

Step 1: Design and Configuration

Step 2: Factory Construction
Once the design is approved, construction begins in API’s Santa Maria facility. Factory construction offers a quality control advantage that on-site construction cannot match — work happens in a controlled environment, unaffected by weather, with consistent material handling and inspection at every stage. California DOH inspectors certify the build before it leaves the factory.
Step 3: Site Preparation
While the building is being constructed, site preparation runs concurrently — grading, foundation or blocking, utility rough-ins, and any permitting required by your local California jurisdiction. Your project manager coordinates site readiness with the factory build timeline so both are complete at the same time.
Step 4: Delivery and Assembly
